Module 4: color theory and value!

1. Discuss what you thought about creating the Value Scale and Color Wheel. I enjoyed making both of them. I like how we made a form of art in the homework assignment.  2. Which media did you enjoy working with the best and why? I honestly like working with the value media better, of pencils and sketching and shading my artwork. I always have. I feel like that is where my strongest spots are when I am drawing and it gives me a lot of joy. By sketching and shading it is like I am giving my artwork some pop and making it come more to life and be less flat.  3. What was the most important discovery in the creation of these studies? The most important discovery in these creations is knowing that a little makes a big difference. For value, it depends on how much pressure you put or not to get the shade you want. While for the color wheel it is knowing that you only need 3 colors to mix together and you can make a lot more colors and tints of colors on the color wheel....

module 3: the color of science perception

1. Describe Color and it's effects on emotions. Use the appropriate vocabulary of color in your posting. Each color can give you different feelings. You choose a color based on how you feel or what emotion you are trying to express. Colors are linked to pleasure and pain. An example of this is blue is more likely to make you feel warmer and calmer while red is more dangerous, yet you are more likely to win when wearing that color.  2. What is a theoretical aspect of color that most intrigues/fascinate you? Why?  A theoretical aspect of a color that most intrigues me the most is that blue and yellow are the earliest colors that we learn. This is interesting to learning because those are not the colors I would normally think about learning first.  I would have thought it would have been like red because that is the color of blood, which gives it that physical connection to humans.  3. In the video, what made the biggest impression on you in regards to color and W...

Module 2

1. For each video and article list/discuss the key concepts you learned. the connects your brain makes  how aesthetics plays with art and philosophers ideas  how philosophers can learn from one other  the different theories and beliefs that everyone can  how our brain sees faces in art how line drawings connect to our brain  the connection between your brain and color cones  how we look for symmetry in art  2.  Which philosopher's theory on aesthetics do you feel is most important? Be sure to mention the philosopher's name, era (time in history), and contribution to the aesthetic theory in your response. The philosopher I picked was Plato. He was from the time period of 4 century B.C. I feel he is most important to aesthetics because of the contributions he made. He "argued that something beautiful attracts the person that sees it" and also said that " there is a beauty by which all things are beautiful". This shows that when he...

I hope to learn everything in art from modern to traditional art forms, art styles and artists I've never heard of before.  I like taking at least one online class each semester.  I work a lot and having an online class helps with balancing the workload.   Three ideas in the growth mindset I believe the most applicable to me is, get involved,...
