My Self Portrait- original image and drawing. ( sorry I cut the image, it helped me with drawing it.)
Questions
1. Why did you select the inspiration pieces? I selected these pieces because I wanted something that shows a pencil style like I like doing. Also, images that had more in the picture than just the self-portrait.
2. Why did you select the media to create your self-portrait? I selected the media of pencil because I feel as though that is where I do my best work and feel most comfortable making art with.
3. What challenges did you face in creating your self-portrait and how did you overcome them? I had a challenge with making sure the sides were lined up and it looked proportional on both sides. Since I cut the picture in half and drew one of the sides at a time, I found it hard to blend out the middle line so that it wouldn't look like I did it that way. I just overcame it but just trying to blend it out and work through it till I thought it was good enough.
4. How does this piece represent you? I think this piece represents me because its shows me overthinking, which I do a lot, about everything. It also can show listening and I feel like I am a good listener when it comes to friends and family. So this piece is just two traits about me!
5. What elements and principles of art did you apply in this work? I applied line, value, and some shape to my artwork.
6. Did you enjoy working on this project? Yes! I like hands-on art-making.
7. What do you think of your final artwork? I think it turned out pretty well and let me use what media I liked best. It was fun just sitting down and making it.
